Lighting accessories product information
In lighting there are many different components and accessories that come together to allow us to receive the light that we want as well as control it in a way that is conducive to the area that we want to illuminate. Without all of the different components such as ballasts, switches, dimmers, shades, transformers, and reflectors, lighting wouldn't be what it is today.
Lighting ballasts are basically a piece of lighting equipment that work to control the starting and operating voltages of electrical gas discharge lights. Ballasts are commonly associated with fluorescent lighting as well as neon lights and high intensity discharge lamps. While this is what the ballast does, the term is often used very loosely to refer to any part of the circuit that is needed to limit the flow of a current through the light from a resistor to other devices. Without a lighting ballast a light would likely fail because the amount of the current would not be controlled. There are different types of ballasts based on the type of light that is being used, for instance in older lights the ballasts were electromagnetic but today most of them electronic.
Most of us take light switches for granted because we have them all over our homes. Without light switches turning our lights on and off would become a lot more complicated and we would likely burn through bulbs a lot more quickly. The purpose of a light switch is that it turns the current to the light on and off. Of course, if you are going to be changing wiring you need to make sure that you turn the current off at the breaker because there is still electricity running to the light, the switch is just used to turn the actual power to the light on and off.
Dimmer switches allow for people to change the lighting in a room at any given time. These dimmers work by doing away with parts of the AC voltage, which allows for only a parts of the waveform to pass through the lamp. The more the waveform is cut down upon the more the light will be dimmed. The light can be as bright as the voltage will allow to just a small fraction of the potential light through to illuminate the given space.
There are many different types of shades to choose from in just about every possible color and material. Shades help to diffuse the light a bit as well as provide a bit of mood lighting instead of straight forward lighting. Shades are used to dress up old lighting fixtures, keeping them relevant even as times change. Shades can be used in addition to dimmers, switches, and more and are generally just as aesthetic addition to the lighting fixture.
When installing lighting that needs a constant flow of electricity, you need to install a current transformer, as well. Transformers are responsible for measuring the current coming into them and out of them, and then alternating the voltage or current to the items that are connected to the transformer. Transformers are what help to give a constant light source without the annoyance of flickering.
Reflectors are used in many different types of lighting fixtures to make sure that the available light is used in the most efficient and effective way. The reflectors can help to diffuse harsh lights and make them more usable in any room. Lighting reflectors are made of many different materials, depending on the type of light that you are using and how much you want to reflect.

Automotive lighting products include headlamps, fog lamps, spot lights, conspicuity devices, and signaling lights.
Home lighting fixtures include ceiling lights, wall lights, outdoor lights as well as table lamps and desk lamps.
LED lighting is much more energy efficient and durable than any other form of lighting such as incandescent bulbs.
The most common light bulbs include the incandescent, halogen, gas discharge, and fluorescent lighting bulbs.
Light fixtures may include globes, sockets, wires, housing, supports, brackets, shades, and decorative elements.
Manmade light sources include incandescent, fluorescent and halogen lamps with each meant for specific tasks.
Outdoor lighting is used to illuminate the exterior of buildings, deck and pool areas, gazebo, paths, and driveways.
Portable lights come in different shapes and sizes. Such lights include flashlights, lanterns, and spotlights.
In solar lighting fixtures a solar panel is used to collect the solar energy which is converted to electricity.
Track lighting helps to enhance the lighting of an area and forms an integral part of the decor of the house.
